Joseph A. Prahlow, MD, completed his undergraduate education in 1986 at Valparaiso University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in biology and in chemistry. He earned his medical degree in 1990 at the Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Prahlow completed residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at the Bowman Gray School of Medicine of Wake Forest University, followed by a fellowship in forensic pathology at UT-Southwestern Medical Center.
Dr. Prahlow is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology, as well as forensic pathology, by the American Board of Pathology. He is a member of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences and the American Association of Physical Anthropologists.
Dr. Prahlow currently serves as a Deputy Medical Examiner for eleven counties throughout Michigan, including Allegan, Barry, Calhoun, Grand Traverse, Kalamazoo, Leelanau, Mason, Muskegon, St. Joseph and Van Buren. He is also a Professor and the Vice Chair of Pathology at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine.
